

Cristian Vogel is a composer and music producer, known for his experimental DJ and Live performances, studio composition and production. Born in Chile 1972 and raised in the UK, he now lives and works in Barcelona.
In 1995 he graduated with BA Honours in 20th Century Music Studies at Sussex University, under the tutor-ship of the British composers, Johnathan Harvey and Martin Butler.
Since then, he has recorded many unique albums, releasing on eminent experimental techno labels such as Tresor Berlin, Novamute, Mille Plateaux and other underground vinyl labels.
Cristian has been touring worldwide since 1993 as DJ and live improvisation, both as solo artist and for a period with Jamie Lidell in Super_Collider and his own song-based band project Night of the Brain.
As studio remixer, he has been invited to reinterpret songs by artists as diverse as Radiohead, Maximo Park, Thom Yorke, Juan Atkins, Pedro Carneiro among many others.
Cristian Vogel’s album producer credits include albums for Kevin Blechdom, Chicks On Speed, Cafeneon, Panico, Virus, Las Perras del Infierno and others.
In 2003, Cristian began working in contemporary dance with the composition of original scores and live soundtracks for the renound Swiss choreographer Gilles Jobin. To date, he has collaborated on five critically acclaimed pieces for Jobin, which have been performed in theatres around the world.
TWO-THOUSAND-AND-THREE for the Geneva Ballet (2003), Delicado for the Gulbenkian Ballet (2004), Steak House (2005), Double Deux (2006), Text To Speech (2008), Black Swan (2009) & Le Chaînon Manquant - The Missing Link (2010).
Cristian has been involved in sound interventions, soundtracks and art projects of his own and with international multi-media artists - of note, Gessami (2009) sitespecific sound and visual installation for the Theatre Arsenic, Lausanne, guest composer for Artificiel’s ’Bulbes’ at the Montreal museum of Contemporary Art (2003), sound design for Stefan Bruggeman’s ’A Production of Nothing’ (2005), sound design and recording for ’1000 beats 1 beat’ with Pieter-jan Ginckels (2007). Film scores and featured music include Hands (2008) short film soundesign and soundtrack for Xavi Jose/Sony PSP, and original music featured in Gaspar Noe’s film, "Enter The Void" (2010). He has also been behind four independent record labels over the years, Station 55 Records, Rise Robots Rise Records, Mosquito Records and Sleep Debt Records, as well as hosting a long running independent internet community known as Erutufon : www.no-future.com.
In 2009 he organises the First Kyma International Users Symposium in Espai Niu, Barcelona. Also seminar at ESMUC (Catalan Conservatory of Music seminars for Sonology undergraduates). He is invited at the Red Bull Music Academy (Studio Team , Berlin 1999 and Barcelona 2009). Participates in the Geneva Sessions (2009, contemporary dance and technology workshops).
