The South-South project is an initiative of the compagnie Gilles Jobin that aims at building the bases of a partership between the southern countries, at supporting artistic development and stimulating exchanges between artists and cultural structures of the south continents.
Indeed, the great majority of development or exchanges projects in the field of culture are organized in a North-South or South-North axis while the projects facilitating the exchanges South-South are practically non-existent. It is thus a question for us of establishing triangular relations South-South-North which can enrich culturally and in a long-lasting way the various partners.
We intervene particularly in the questions of training of the dancer but also of the professional or pre-professional technicians from live art.
We wish to propose paid workspaces which give some spot work, participate in the professionalization of the persons and play a role, even modest, in the local economy.
The South-South project is also a logistic support to facilitate diffusion and networking that allows to envisage the idea of the sustainable development in dance, that is to make the tools of the artistic emancipation at the local level.
