The Shanghai Loop (2021)

PRÉSENTATION

The Shanghai Loop is a piece that was featured in the exhibition Either/Or: Those remote days at the Suning Art Museum in Shanghai from December 8, 2021 to February 28, 2022, curated by Evelyn Wang. Originally scheduled for October 2021, the date as well as the duration of the exhibition was impacted by Covid-19 and had to be pushed back to December 2021.

The piece is a reflection on loneliness and isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic. It consists of the projection of different repeated loops, performed by Susana Panadés Diaz, József Trefeli and Rudi Van der Merwe. The main 3D artist is Tristan Siodlak and the music was composed by the Zurich band Tar Pond.
